Finpecia (Finasteride) is used to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is a common condition in men. Finpecia is a type of medication known as a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor. This medicine is a type of medication known as a reductase inhibitor. Finpecia works by blocking the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that is responsible for causing prostate enlargement. DHT is the hormone that causes enlarged prostate, making it harder to urinate.
The usual dose of Finpecia is 1mg taken orally once or twice a day. Finpecia should be taken at the same time every day, either with or without food. Take Finpecia 1 tablet every 24 hours, as directed by your doctor. Finpecia may be taken with or without food, but you should take the medicine at the same time every day. Do not take more than the recommended dose to treat your condition. Finpecia is to be taken with a low-fat meal. You should eat a balanced, low-fat diet while taking Finpecia.
